Prestigious Global Concierge Society Recognises InterContinental Concierge Excellence

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts awarded two accolades at 61st Les Clefs d'Or Congress

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts recently celebrated as two of the brand's Chef Concierges were recognised at the 61st Les Clefs d'Or Congress for their commitment to the network's global service standards of excellence. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has over 150 employees who are members of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or.

James Ridenour, Chef Concierge at InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto, was officially appointed to the Executive Committee of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or international network, while InterContinental Doha'sChef Concierge Randy Santos was named Founder and President of the new Les Clefs d’Or QatarSection.

In his new role as Assistant General Secretary, James will assist the General Secretary with the global network's communications, operations and meetings held throughout the year.

"Les Clefs d'Or is a global network of concierges with a common goal: to deliver quality service that ensures each guest gets a great experience at our hotels and the place they are visiting. Being appointed to the Executive Committee and serving alongside a group of like-minded, service-oriented concierges is a privilege and I look forward to sharing the best practices I learn from my global counterparts with my team at InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto," said James Ridenour.

As President of the Country Section, Randy will be responsible for representing the Association in any Les Clefs d’Or international and national business meetings, planning and conducting the affairs of the Association, and organising the Association’s annual business plan. TheLes Clefs d’Or QatarSection is the 44th Country Section in the network and the second country in the Middle East, after the UAE, to earn its status as an independent chapter.

Membership to the Les Clefs d’Or, which literally means The Golden Keys, applies only to hotel concierges, where a full international membership can take up to five years to obtain. The nearly 3,800 global members of this esteemed association are identified by the two crossed golden keys pinned on the lapels of their uniforms which signify a guarantee of quality service.
