On15 May, Team Members from Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum conducted a career guidance session at Sri Mulam Shashtipurthi Smaraka Hindu Mahila Mandiram, one of the oldest non-profit organisations in Trivandrum dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged young women, to raise awareness and expose young people to the booming career opportunities available in the hospitality industry. Close to 30 young people partook of the session. In addition, chefs from the hotel conducted a cooking demonstration on 22 May, in an attempt to guide and assist the students as they prepared for food festival scheduled on 30 May in the school’s premises. Moreover, on 29 May, students were escorted on a detailed show-around of the hotel, with the objective of giving them a better understanding of hotel operations.

Mr. Vishal Gupta, General Manager, said, “We were very glad with the opportunity to contribute towards impacting the lives of young people.  However small our contribution, it is in the right direction. Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum is especially proud to have partnered with Sri Mulam Shashtipurthi Smaraka Hindu Mahila Mandiram as it is a privilege to be make any contribution to the great work of the organisation.”

M. Sreekumari, Secretary, Sri Mulam Shashtipurthi Smaraka Hindu Mahila Mandiram, said, “I wish to place on record my appreciation of all at Hilton Garden Inn who visited our institution a few times and interacted with the residents. My colleagues and I are particularly impressed with the pleasant attitude of the Hilton family. The highlight was when the chefs came to introduce the girls to a different world of preparing food. They demonstrated some recipes which they copied to make some sophisticated items for the Food Festival here on 30th May. The burgers sold like hot cakes! In general the interaction of Hilton Garden Inn hotel opened up a new career option in the minds of the girls which will stand in good stead in future. I wish Hilton all the best in all its endeavors.”
