NEW HEAD CHEF TO LEAD CULINARY TEAM OF MEGU

The Leela Palace New Delhi announced the appointment of Shimomura Kazuya as the new Head Chef of the award-winning modern Japanese restaurant Megu.

Backed with twenty six years of rich culinary experience, Chef Shimomura is set to bring intense excitement, exquisite technique and perfectly balanced flavours to discerning diners at Megu.

Commenting on the appointment, Louis Sailer, General Manager, The Leela Palace New Delhi said: “We are pleased to welcome Chef Shimomura to our modern palace. In his new role, Shimomura will head the Megu team and elevate the modern Japanese dining experience further. A dynamic chef, Shimomura has garnered acclaim for his seamless integration of modern and traditional Japanese cuisine and has effectively created an inimitable repertoire by working in globally recognised kitchens of Hinokizaka at Ritz Carlton Tokyo and in the Michelin starred restaurant Mizumi at Wynn Macau.

In his initial years, Shimomura mastered the art of Tempura and acquired the skill of curating Kaiseki \"a sought-after traditional multi-course Japanese style dinner. Kaiseki is opulence of perfection rather than wealth. His desire to create the perfect dish each timehelped him to excel the art of designing the most exquisite meals.

Shimomura loves to experiment with sensory perceptions of sound, sight and smell while whipping some exotic delectable platters and what best, he is most comfortable spinning his magic at the live kitchen counter where guests can watch the thrill of his cooking techniques.
