Kuwait Airways, an iconic symbol of aviation excellence, on the occasion of celebrating its 70th anniversary of serving as a vital link between India and the world, has launched the company’s new logo, With a rich history steeped in innovation and service, Kuwait Airways has played a pivotal role in connecting the Indian subcontinent to the Middle East and beyond, fostering cultural exchange and economic growth along the way.
Captain Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan. Kuwait Airways Chairman announced that the company will operate to 54 destinations in the upcoming summer season. In addition to this, Al-Fagaan stated that some of the most important highlights of operations during the summer will include an increase in the number of flights to London with two flights per day starting from 31 March 2024, continuation of operations to Barcelona, Spain with three flights per week commencing in April 2024, flights to Madrid will continue with one flight per week and will be increased to two flights per the increased demand. Additionally, there will also be an increase in the number of flights to Munich by four flights per week, starting from April 2024.
Al-Fagaan added, “This is followed by operating flights to Malaga, Spain and to Sarajevo with three flights per week, and to Antalya with two flights per week. Operations to Bodrum will include three flights per week, to Vienna with four flights per week, to Nice in France with two flights per week, Salalah with three flights per week and commencing operations to Taif from June 2024.”
At the same time, Al-Fagaan pointed out that the company’s performance indicators were witnessing a noticeable improvement in performance according to the monthly reports issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, indicating that the company during January had recorded an increase in aircraft operation by 25%, as well as an increase in passenger traffic by approximately 21% compared to the performance rates in January 2023, this is in addition to the significant progress and achievement in managing the Terminal 4 during the period.
Al-Fagaan said the fluctuations in fuel prices constitute a concern for all airline operators, however, as the national carrier, Kuwait Airways has the support from the political leadership and is thankful for this.
He further mentioned that Kuwait Airways currently owns a new and diversified fleet of 32 aircraft consisting of Airbus and Boeing with advanced specifications and the latest features. The company’s operations have developed reaching an expanded network of around 50 global destinations and operating numerous daily flights from Terminal 4.
Al-Fagaan mentioned numerous services that Kuwait Airways is developing, such as launching the Blue Bird Channel on the aircraft screens with programs and documentaries that meet the passengers’ entertainment requirements, collaboration with national food companies to enhance the quality of food onboard commencing from Eid Al-Fitr and launching the baggage home delivery service for passengers.
Established in 1954, Kuwait Airways has been a pioneer in shaping the aviation landscape of the region. Over the decades, the airline has expanded its reach to encompass a global network, with India emerging as a key focus destination. Currently, Kuwait Airways operates flights to eight Indian cities, including Trivandrum, Kochi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi. These routes serve as lifelines, facilitating seamless travel for millions of passengers annually, and fostering strong bonds between the Indian diaspora and their homeland.
