Tripura is the third smallest state in India, which located in north-eastern India. Tripura was established in 1956. It covers area of 10,491 km2 and is bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south, and west, and the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram to the east.
In 2011 the state had 3,671,032 residents, constituting 0.3% of the country’s population. The modern Tripura was ruled by Manikya Dynasty for centuries- was a part of an independent princely state under the British Empire. Administrative, Legislative and Judicial Capital of Tripura is Agartala.
