Mr. Ajay Prakash, CEO, of Nomad Travels, was re-elected as the President of TAFI once again at the national elections of The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), for the upcoming term, spanning from 2023 to 2025, which were held September 2, 2023, at the Peninsula Grand Hotel in Mumbai during the 29th Annual General Meeting.
In a resounding vote of confidence, Mr. Ajay Prakash, the TAFI members unanimously re-elected him for another term. In response to this development, Mr. Prakash expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am deeply humbled and honored by the trust our members have placed in me and the entire TAFI team. We recognize the challenges ahead, and travel agents and tour operators must swiftly adapt to remain relevant in light of evolving demands. Consequently, it is crucial to involve the younger generation in our association. Our new team includes four Chapter Chairmen who have made significant contributions at the Chapter and Regional levels. Looking forward, we aim to expand our membership base and establish new Chapters, beginning with Jammu & Kashmir. The next two years promise to be eventful, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to our members for entrusting us with this opportunity.”
Mr. Anil Kalsi of Ambe World Travels, New Delhi has assumed the role of Vice President, succeeding Mr. Kamal R. Jadhwani (Tulip Travel Services (P) Ltd, Mumbai). Mr. Abbas Moiz of Shoiz Travels LLP, Mumbai, and Mr. Hitank Shah of Alka Airlink, Ahmedabad retained their positions as National General Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Other committee members elected for the 2023-2025 term include Mr. Seeraj Sabharwal (Charter Tours and Travels, Banglore), Mr. Rai Achal Krishna (Travel Assistance Bureau, Haryana), Mr. Anandaveloo M. (Arunlekha Travels, Chennai), Mr. Sampat Damani (Disha Travel, Mumbai), and Mr. Jitul Mehta(VP Travels Mumbai). Additionally, as per TAFI’s bye-laws, four more members were co-opted during the first Managing Committee meeting held on the same day: Mr. S. Somaskandan (Sigma Travel & Cargo P Ltd., Chennai), Mr. Sunil Uttam (Kass Travels, Pune), Mr. Anil Punjabi (Ar-es Travels Pvt Ltd., Kolkata), and Mr. Paulose Mathew (Coraz Travel & Trade Links Pvt Ltd., Kochi). Mr. Pradip Lulla(Cupid Travels & Tours Pvt Ltd, Mumbai) will continue to serve as the immediate past president.
