Uttarpradesh , the rainbow land where the multi-hued Indian Culture has blossomed from times immemorial . The state has a strong  cultural foundation with a perfect blend of contrasting religions. Truly multi-ethnic, this state is laced with immigrant cultural heritage roots that lend it a unique identity in India.

A substantial portion of the subcontinent’s ancient Vedic literature had its origin in Uttar Pradesh’s many hermitages, as did the great Indian epics the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Valmiki is celebrated as the prophet of Sanskrit literature. The epic Ramayana is attributed to him. Tulsidas was a saint and poet, renowned for his devotion to the deity Rama. Tulsidas spent most of his life in the city of Varanasi and Faizabad.

Rajapur, a town of Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, is associated with Tulsidas while Lalapur located on the Chitrakoot-Pragyaj highway is associated with Maharishi Valmiki. The government has planned to focus on and develop these regions to boost tourism. As part of the initiatives to develop the area around the ashram into a tourist spot ,government  has prepared  a plan for road linkage to Rajapur and Lalapur and developed the area with roads and ropeways (as the ashram is situated on a hill) with light and sound systems.

UttarPradesh being the ‘Heartland of India’ emerged as the top tourist destination of India. The state boasts the rich cultural heritage of the country. The land offers feasts to those who love to explore – be it nature or monuments. The government is taking the utmost care to promote and enhance the tourism sector of the state.
