Manipur is located in the north-eastern part of India. It shares borders with the state of Nagaland to the north, Mizoram to the south, and Assam to the west; Myanmar lies to its east. The state covers an area of 22,327 square kilometres and has a population of almost 3 million residents. Manipur was established in 1947. The Administrative, Legislative and Judicial Capital of the state is Imphal.
