The state was established in 1972. Mizoram, the name derived from ‘Mizo’ the inhabitants of the state, ‘Ram’ means land, and thus Mizoram means, “The land of Mizo”.
Mizoram is located in the north-eastern part of India. Within the northeast region, it is the southern most landlocked state, sharing borders with three of the Seven Sister States, namely Tripura, Assam and Manipur. The state also shares a 722-kilometre border with the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Myanmar. Administrative and Legislative capital of Mizoram is Aizawl. And the Judicial Capital is Guwahati.
