Quick Ride, F5 Escapes win WTF India startup competition

World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) announced four winners in their maiden India startup meet and innovation camp, which was held at Taj Banglore near Kempa Gowda International Airport on December 18, 2019. The event was organised in association with IHCL and Tata Trusts at Bangalore.
Banglore-based Quick Ride won the Conservation category award and F5 Escapes won the Community category award, worth US$ 10,000 cash prize, and certificate, while NotOnMap based in Champa Madhya Pradesh won the prize in Culture segment and Me Tripping, Banglore bagged the coveted position in Commerce category.
Mr. Puneet Chatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Indian Hotels Corporation Ltd, and Mr. Reto Wittwer, Chairman, WTFL, distributed the cash awards and certificates in the presence of Prof Martin Berth, President & CEO of WTL, and Ms. Aradhana Khowal, Board Member of WTFL, in a glittering function attended by Tourism industry leaders and luminaries.
The award winners were selected from among 16 finalists, four each in culture, commerce, community, and conservation categories after evaluation and shortlisting from more than 300 entries.
The two-day Tourism startup Innovation Camp 2019, which was attended by globally renowned leaders and industry experts, has given wings to the innovative startups entrepreneurs and support them to adopt a sustainable development approach
Quick Ride is a real-time ride-sharing app that connects daily commuters. It makes everyone’s commute economical, eco-friendly, social, safe, and convenient. The other winners in the Conservation category included Lootel, Indore; Ecowrap, Jaipur; and Padcare Labs, Pune
F5 Escapes is an experiential travel company with a vision to redefine women travel in India through education-empowerment-engagement. Kaarwan Edutravel, Thane in Maharashtra, Planet Abled, Delhi, and Rural Odyssey, Gurgaon were the other three finalists in the Culture category.
NotOnMap is a platform that connects travellers to culturally rich remote villages after restoring houses, training community members thereby creating alternative livelihood for villagers and minimising unskilled migration. Augtraveler, Delhi; Authenticook, Mumbai; and WildTrails, Bangalore were the other three finalists in their category.
MeTripping, the winner in the Commerce category is the new tech stack for travel that infuses intelligence into every aspect of the travel decision-making process by making sense of the world’s data and providing contextual inspiration and intelligent dynamic packaging. CabDost, Bangalore, Camp Monk, Bangalore, and OutsiteVR, New Delhi were the other finalists in the category.
