The Indo-Gulf & Middle East Chamber of Commerce (INMECC) hosted its inaugural “Salute Kerala 2024” awards ceremony to honour Kerala’s entrepreneurs’ outstanding contributions to the state’s industrial growth.
The event, inaugurated by Mr P. Rajeev, Minister for Industries, Kerala, and attended by Mr K.N. Balagopal, Minister for Finance, Kerala, and Mr V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition, was held at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Kochi on November 26, 2024. Mr. Mohammad Haneesh IAS, Principal Secretary, Kerala State Industries Department, and Mr. Sharafudheen, Chairman of INMECC, were also present.
The event’s highest honour, the “INMECC Leadership Salute,” was awarded to renowned entrepreneur Dr. P. Mohammed Ali of Galfar, recognizing his significant contributions to Kerala’s hospitality, industry, and societal development.
Ministers P. Rajeev and K.N. Balagopal also presented the “INMECC Excellence Salute” award to ten prominent industrialists:

Mr. V.D. Satheesan, Leader of the Opposition, officially released the “Salute to Kerala” coffee table book, presenting a copy to Mr. K.N. Balagopal, Minister for Finance, Kerala.
Mr. MPM Mohammad Haneesh IAS, Principal Secretary—Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala, outlined the salient features of Kerala’s new Industrial Policy, which aims to foster a more investor-friendly business environment and promote sustainable economic growth.
INMECC officials highlighted that this inaugural event is the first of its kind in Kerala, aiming to inspire young entrepreneurs to contribute to the state’s economic and industrial transformation.
The event also featured two panel discussions themed “Converting possibilities of job aspirants to entrepreneurs – Government and industry support” and “Regulatory and Bureaucratic reforms: Streamlining procedures to Foster Domestic and Global investment.”
“Salute Kerala 2024” aims to recognize visionary leaders whose work has expanded Kerala’s business reach beyond national borders. INMECC plans to replicate similar events in other states, creating a broader platform to honour entrepreneurial excellence and further boost India’s reputation as a hub for business, innovation, and opportunity.
