Hospitals in Tamilnadu should not compare themselves with other hospitals in the state or in other states but with the best in the world to augment their facilities and skills, said Dr. B. Vijaya Bhaskar, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.”We have the best medical facilities and experts that even medical experts from the western countries are coming to Tamil Nadu to gain insights on various subjects,” the minister said while inaugurating a conference on “TN Medical Value Travel” at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, on the sidelines of the Tamil Nadu Travel Mart on September 20.
The minister said that advanced medical facilities are available for ordinary people in the government hospitals in the state for free. The chief minister, he said, was keen on bringing the most modern facilities to the common man. ” We have successfully irradicated malaria and dengue from the state for the past five years,” the minister said. While the welcome address was delivered by S.Chndramohan, Chairman, CII Tamil Madu, Mr. S. Ganesh IAS, Director, Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Dr. S. Chandrakumar, convenor, CII Tamil Nadu Task Force on Health Tourism, Dr. M.Sharmila, Director Equipments Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Ltd., also addressed the audience. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Raghupathy Veluswami, co-convenor, CII Tamil Nadu Taskforce on Health Tourism and CEO of GKNMH Hospital said, the state has an immense number of registered medical professionals who are experts in their respective fields.
