Karanataka was established in 1940. Karnataka was originally known as state of Mysore, it was renamed as Karnataka in 1973. Situated in the south western part of India. Karnataka shares borders with Arabian Sea to the west,Goa to the northwest, Maharashtra to the north, Telangana to the northeast ,Andrapradesh to the east, Tamil Nadu to the southeast, and Kerala to the south. It is the 6th largest state by area and eighth largest state by population. Official language of the state is Kannada. The Administrative, Legislative and Judicial Capital of Karnataka is Bangalore.
