World Tourism Day, celebrated on 27th September 2022 reminds us of the key role played by tourism in generating employment, social responsibility, and economic growth. As a part of World Tourism day, Kolenchery Area Pravasi Society and WebCRS Cochin have conducted a talk show on “Possibilities of Entrepreneurship in Tourism” at Kaloor International Stadium, Cochin in Kerala.
The main focus of the talk show was how Kerala as a state is the right destination to create new Entrepreneurs in the Tourism sector, which will enable more employment opportunities and economic growth in the ever-evolving Kerala Tourism.
Connecting this year’s World Tourism Theme “Rethinking Tourism”, Mr. Neelkanth Pararath, founder of WebCRS mentioned the importance of promoting Tourism products by inspiring people to visit places in the country through storytelling and warm hospitality rather than discount sales. He shared the importance of value-based promotion for creating a sustainable business environment to attract investments and offer returns to investors in the sector.
Mr. Nizar Ibrahim, Chairman of Kolenchery Area Pravasi Society highlighted the economic importance of the tourism sector in Kerala and its economic impact and how it can uplift the entire livelihood & lifestyle of the local community, and why NRIs should look towards developing enterprises in the Tourism Sector.
Mr. Praveen Muraleedharan, Founder of Ecotone Camps shared his experience and opportunities in experiential Tourism in post-Covid markets. He mentioned the aspects of Sustainable Tourism Products that would be the future of the Tourism Market in the country and how each travel trade plays an important role while promoting tourism products to the world.
Mr.Sunil Varghese, an NRI investor mentioned the ease of doing business in Kerala, especially in the booming industry such as the Tourism Sector.
