Kumar Shobhan, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Kolkata commented, “Our hotel lies midway between the airport and the city hub. Our luxury property hosts a plethora of weddings during winter. The city has four months of winter when weddings are held in the open air. The property is an oasis of green that entices a fair number of business travellers.”
The hospitality group stands tall in its unique selling proposition. Shobhan said, “It is the one and only luxury property in the city with a tennis court and squash. We are one of the luxury hotels where each room boasts a bathtub. Our Club Prana prides itself on having 350 members. Our hospitality group has fared better than in 2019. In current times, with the rise in demand and supply, we have surpassed the pre-pandemic times in terms of revenue based on the annual figures for 2022. Our hotel is running an occupancy of 85-90 percent. The pandemic has been a living nightmare. However, we are looking forward to good times in 2023 when global travel will pick up in the city.”
As of now, the global hotel group is emphasizing more on corporate travel more. Shobhan further said, “Our hotel is famed for its grand wedding business. Keeping an eye on the New Year, we are stressing on corporate groups. We are constantly upgrading with hygiene and better customer service.” The hospitality player is coming up with a novel outdoor destination called Incog overlooking the façade of the property. It would be an interactive place with great cocktails.
