Ayatana- Luxurious escape into the colonial heritage of Ooty

Ayatana, a premium chain of boutique hotels and luxury resorts in South India, has announced the opening of its newest property in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Ayatana aims to provide an authentic and culturally rich experience to its guests, with each property inspired by its surroundings. The latest addition to the Ayatana family, the Ooty property, is the epitome of luxury colonial heritage, offering a unique escape to guests.

The picturesque Ayatana resort is located in Ooty, a quaint town nestled in the Nilgiris Hills and famous for its tea plantations, colonial influence, and being the old Madras Presidency summer capital. The property is marked by a magnificent red stone-cladding wall at the entrance, creating a sense of intrigue and mystery. The interiors incorporate contemporary colonial elements with grand welcoming lobbies and accent stone walls, providing a rustic countryside charm to the establishment.

The luxurious lodges are carefully designed to infuse the intricacies of the local culture, providing a holistic, vibrant, and authentic experience of the region. The suites, Standard and Deluxe, offer spacious accommodations of 520 Sq Ft and 600 Sq Ft respectively. The rooms are adorned with traditionally embroidered soft furnishings made by local Toda tribeswomen, showcasing the heritage and culture of Ooty. The property features an array of amenities such as a 19m x 7m swimming pool, a spa, conference facilities spanning across 1640 Sq Ft, and 30 extra bed or mattress facilities.

Speaking about the Ooty launch, Mr. Vishal Tony, the Founder of Ayatana, said, “We are thrilled to announce the launch of our second property in Tamil Nadu, inspired by the region’s colonial heritage. We aim to provide our guests with an authentic and revitalizing experience. Our goal is to create unforgettable memories that guests will cherish for a lifetime. We chose Ooty as our destination because of its beautiful landscapes, tea estates, and rich cultural history. It is an ideal summer break destination for families and couples alike.”

Ayatana-Ooty offers a gourmet dining experience with the Tycoon restaurant, serving Indian, Chinese, South Indian, and Continental cuisine, enhanced by a serene hillside view. The resort boasts mesmerizing greenery all around, and each cottage has been strategically placed to offer an incomparable view from its balcony. Guests can enjoy the amazing view of the tea estate from their rooms, and also from the bar and swimming pool, which is temperature-controlled. The Kattery Water Fall and Dam are located nearby and guests can also visit all the famous viewpoints and sightseeing spots like the Botanical Garden, Ooty Lake House, and Rose Garden. Love Dale railway station is just 6 km away, where guests can experience a thrilling toy train ride into the wild.

Ayatana-Ooty’s exquisite experience promises to be an escape from the monotony of daily life, a revitalizing experience with charming tea gardens and countryside clubs, igniting a sense of tradition and old-time charm. In 2022 Ayatana Hospitality launched its first luxury resort Coorg and presently with the Ooty property launch Ayatana is expanding in the South India with many other upcoming projects in the pipeline.
