Minor Hotels appoints Rohit Chopra as Area Commercial Director – India

Minor Hotels has appointed Mr. Rohit Chopra as Area Commercial Director, India, as the group sets its sights on increasing its presence in the country.

In his new role, Chopra will spearhead commercial activities at Minor Hotels in India, emphasising driving revenue growth, building long-lasting client relationships, and enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. Chopra will report to Mr. Vijay Krishnan, Vice President of Operations, in India, and Mr. Richard Beh, Vice President of Commercial, in Asia.

Minor Hotels has an ambitious goal of opening 50 new properties in India within the next decade, and Chopra’s arrival comes as the group accelerates its expansion in the Indian market. With a clear vision, extensive experience, and deep expertise in the hospitality sector, the new Commercial Leadership will further strengthen the group’s objectives, ensuring seamless progress toward achieving its targets.

Mr. Chopra is a seasoned leader in the hospitality industry with a career spanning over 26 years, including roles at global hospitality groups Marriott, Hyatt, and Accor. His career began as a Sales Executive in 1998, after which he joined Hyatt in 2004, advancing to Director of Sales & Marketing. In 2013, Chopra moved to Accor, where he spent over a decade rising through the ranks and most recently holding the position of Director of National Sales for India & South Asia.

Mr. Chopra holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce from DAV College Amritsar and a Master’s in Tourism Management from the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Ghaziabad.
