Renowned hospitality professional Biswajit Chakraborty, fondly known as BC among his close circle of friends, has taken on the role of General Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy ONE, a premier luxury hotel in the Garden City of Bengaluru.
With a career spanning over 35 years of luxury hospitality experience, Chakraborty brings a wealth of experiences to this iconic property. His expertise covers hotel operations, sales and marketing, and the successful management of pre-opening projects.
Before joining Four Seasons, he served as Managing Director at Hotelivate, a leading hospitality consulting firm. His career highlights include roles such as General Manager at Sofitel Mumbai BKC and The Oberoi Grand Kolkata, where his leadership contributed to the hotels’ enduring success. He also served as the General Manager of The Leela Kempinski in both Kovalam and Mumbai. , Pullman & Novotel Aerocity, Delhi; Mövenpick Hotels & Spa Bangalore and Cluster General Manager for The Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts in Kerala, where he oversaw The Leela Kovalam, A Raviz Hotel, and The Leela Ashtamudi, A Raviz Hotel.
A standout achievement in his career was leading The Leela Kempinski Kovalam Beach to win the National Tourism Award for Best Five-Star Deluxe Hotel in India in 2008-2009. Chakraborty also served as General Manager of Yak and Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal.
His long association with the Oberoi Group, which spanned over 11 years, included roles such as Director of Sales and EAM Operations at The Oberoi Bangalore, and Regional Director of Sales for the Taj Group of Hotels.
In 2005, Chakraborty took the role of opening General Manager for The Leela Kempinski Kovalam and later played a key role in launching The Leela Ashtamudi, A Raviz Hotel. Before joining The Leela, he was the Managing Director for South India at Hotelivate, where he completed an operations audit for Four Seasons Bengaluru in 2022.
Known for his strategic leadership, people-centric approach, and dedication to guest satisfaction, Chakraborty firmly believes in the “Atithi Devo Bhava” philosophy. He holds a master’s degree in commerce from Bangalore University and a Diploma in Hospitality General Management from Cornell University.
A true globetrotter, BC is passionate about travel, advanced archery, reading, and music, interests that reflect his deep appreciation for culture and lifestyle. He holds a black belt in karate, trained in Kung Fu, and is an active member of the Rotary Club.
In his new role at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru, BC aims to elevate the guest experience while maintaining the brand’s legacy of personalized service. His leadership promises to take the hotel to new heights of excellence, further establishing it as the preferred luxury destination in Bengaluru.
