Founded in 1998, Coastline Holidays is a leading provider of premium transportation services for inbound foreign and domestic travelers visiting Kerala and South India. The company owns and operates a fleet of sedans, Innova, Crysta, tempo travelers, mini and large coaches. With well-mannered multilingual drivers capable of doubling as tour guides, Coastline Holidays ensures a seamless travel experience for its clients.
Recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and the Department of Kerala Tourism, Government of Kerala, the company has earned a reputation for excellence. In 2024, Coastline Holidays was honored as the Best Car Operator of the Year by the Transport Minister of Tamil Nadu at the Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India event in Bangalore.

You started your career as an executive in a tour operator company and later played a key role in growing Coastline Holidays. What motivated you to leap into entrepreneurship?
While I was driven by a passion for the industry, my biggest motivation came from my husband, who believed in my abilities and encouraged me to step beyond the ordinary. After 25 years in the trade, I felt it was time to embrace new challenges and contribute more significantly to Coastline Holidays.
What were the most significant challenges you faced while climbing the ladder in the travel and tourism industry?
Coming from a non-tourism background, entering the industry itself was a challenge. It took time to learn, adapt, and prove my capabilities. However, with the right support and determination, I overcame obstacles and continue contributing to my company and the sector.
Having worked at different levels in the industry, how has your perspective on leadership evolved over the years?
Leadership is not about authority but about trust, guidance, teamwork, and strong communication. Over time, I have learned to listen more, adapt to change, and empower those around me. True leadership is about fostering growth and creating opportunities for others.
Coastline Holidays has grown into a market leader in Kerala, offering a fleet of luxury coaches, cabs, and experienced chauffeurs. What were the key factors behind this success?
Our success stems from a commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. A well-maintained fleet, experienced chauffeurs, and personalized service set us apart, along with the trust of our clients and the dedication of our team.


What is your approach to managing large-scale operations, including major conferences, cruise handling, and group travel?
Success in large-scale operations requires meticulous planning, an experienced team, a strong supplier network, and clear communication. We prioritize understanding client needs and executing seamless travel experiences.
As a woman entrepreneur, how do you balance business responsibilities and personal commitments in a family-run company?
Work prioritization, effective time management, strong family support, and a capable team help me maintain a balance between my professional and personal life.


What advice would you give to women who aspire to transition from an employee role to owning and running their own travel company?
Believe in yourself, gain industry knowledge, build a strong network, take calculated risks, and stay committed to your vision.
Have you encountered gender biases or stereotypes in your journey? How did you handle them?
Yes, but I tackled them through perseverance, hard work, and confidence. I let my results speak for themselves.
In your experience, has the travel and tourism industry become more inclusive for women entrepreneurs? What improvements are still needed?
The industry has become more inclusive, but there is still a need for better funding access, mentorship programs, leadership opportunities, and safer work environments.
How can industry bodies and associations support more women in leadership roles within travel and tourism?
By providing mentorship, leadership training, financial support, networking opportunities, and ensuring a level playing field for women in leadership.


Coastline Holidays is known for handling large-scale events, cruise tourism, and group travel. What makes your approach stand out from competitors?
Our strength lies in meticulous planning, strong industry connections, personalized service, and expertise in managing large-scale operations seamlessly.
With changing travel preferences, especially post-pandemic, what are the key trends shaping Kerala’s tourism landscape?
Sustainable tourism, wellness retreats, experiential travel, offbeat destinations, and digital-first travel solutions are major trends driving Kerala’s tourism sector.
Have you seen an increase in demand for women-friendly travel services? How is your company catering to this segment?
Yes, there is growing demand. We offer safety-focused itineraries, women-only tours, trusted accommodations, and secure transportation to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free experience.
Your Role in Kerala Travel Mart Society & Tourism Professional Club
As an Executive Committee Member of Kerala Travel Mart Society and Chairman of the Cultural Committee, you played a key role in organizing the well-received inaugural ceremony. What was the vision behind it, and how did you bring it to life?
Our vision was to highlight Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and exceptional hospitality. Through meticulous planning and vibrant performances, we delivered a spectacular event that celebrated Kerala’s unique identity.
The Kerala Travel Mart has always been a landmark event in the state’s tourism industry. What steps can enhance its impact and global reach?
Expanding international collaborations, leveraging digital marketing, targeting key markets, increasing exhibitor diversity, and showcasing innovative tourism experiences can further elevate KTM’s influence.
You are also actively involved with the Tourism Professional Club in Kochi. How does this platform contribute to industry growth and networking?
The club fosters industry connections, professional development, knowledge sharing, and collaboration—helping tourism professionals stay updated and enhance their expertise.


Balancing a demanding career in travel with personal life is challenging. How do you manage work-life integration?
Efficient time management, delegation, and a strong support system help me balance my career and personal life effectively.
Do you believe mentorship plays a significant role in empowering women in the travel industry? Have you mentored or been mentored by others?
Absolutely. Mentorship is key to helping women navigate challenges with confidence. I have both benefited from mentors and mentored aspiring professionals in the industry.
What advice would you give to young women aspiring to establish a career in travel and tourism?
Stay passionate, continuously learn, and don’t be afraid to take bold steps. Seek mentorship, build strong networks, and believe in your potential.
What are the biggest opportunities for women entrepreneurs in travel and tourism today?
Sustainable tourism, digital travel services, niche experiences, and women-centric travel segments offer significant potential for female entrepreneurs.
