New agreements will offer Air India passengers access to 16 additional destinations across six countries.
Air India, a premier Indian global carrier, today revealed new interline agreements with four significant airlines from emerging markets. These collaborations are designed to substantially improve connectivity to Europe, focusing on the Baltic region and parts of Eastern Europe, as well as Central Asia.

The partnerships will furnish Air India travelers with seamless journeys to an additional 16 destinations spanning six countries in these strategically important regions. Concurrently, passengers of the associated airlines will gain more convenient access to India.
These interline agreements were formalized by Air India with airBaltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways. The signings occurred on the sidelines of the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting, currently being held in New Delhi.
These new alliances further solidify Air India’s standing as a key global connector. Passengers will benefit from the ability to travel across continents using a single ticket that combines Air India services with those of its new partners, along with coordinated baggage allowances and handling.
Enhanced One-Stop Connectivity via Partner Airlines:
airBaltic: This partnership opens up travel to Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania). Connections can be made through Air India’s European gateways in Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Milan-Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich, or via Dubai.
Bulgaria Air: Access to Sofia is facilitated through Air India’s hubs at London Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Zurich, and Tel Aviv, supporting travel to the dynamic Eastern European capital. Air India travelers can also connect onwards from Sofia to other Bulgarian cities like Varna and Burgas.

Cyprus Airways: This agreement provides entry to Larnaca, Cyprus, via Air India’s European points in Paris, Milan, and Dubai, making one of the Mediterranean’s key cultural and economic centers more accessible to Indian travelers.
Uzbekistan Airways: Direct access to Tashkent is available from Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa-Mopa (GOX). Further connections from Tashkent include Bukhara, Qarshi, Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Samarkand, Fergana, and Namangan.
In return, Air India will offer streamlined travel to over 30 Indian cities for customers of its four new partner airlines, including major destinations like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, and Kochi.
Mr. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, commented, “These four new interline collaborations substantially broaden Air India’s international presence, creating smooth travel routes to dynamic urban centers in some of today’s most vital emerging economies.” He added, “Our alliances with airBaltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways will provide a wider array of travel choices and more seamless experiences for our expanding global clientele, simultaneously bolstering India’s ascendant role as a significant hub in global aviation.”
