Sikkim to Host 13th International Tourism Mart from November 13–16 in Gangtok

Sikkim is set to host the 13th edition of the International Tourism Mart (ITM) from November 13 to 16, bringing together tourism leaders, policymakers, and global travel industry representatives to spotlight the immense tourism potential of India’s North Eastern region.

The announcement came during a press briefing addressed by Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister T T Bhutia, Additional Chief Secretary C S Rao, and Tourism Secretary Neeraj Pradhan. Organised by the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the event will take place at the Upper Ground of Sikkim Armed Police, Pangthang.
Minister Bhutia stated that Sikkim is proud to host the 13th edition of ITM, after previously hosting the fourth edition. “This platform is dedicated to promoting tourism across the North Eastern states and enhancing regional cooperation. We are expecting participation from Chief Ministers, Tourism Ministers, and senior stakeholders from all North Eastern states, along with around 300 international delegates,” he said.

He also highlighted the special addition of the North Eastern Bazar, which will showcase and promote diverse local products, crafts, and handloom traditions to domestic and international buyers. The event will include a series of B2B meetings designed to build strong partnerships between local tourism stakeholders and global travel trade representatives.
Additional Chief Secretary C S Rao informed that delegates from 18 countries will be attending the ITM. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for November 14. He emphasised that the event will position Sikkim as a dream destination known for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and sustainable tourism practices. He called for coordinated efforts from all departments to ensure smooth execution of the event while maintaining Sikkim’s cultural integrity.

Tourism Secretary Neeraj Pradhan added that the ITM would offer a valuable platform to promote local entrepreneurship and innovation. “The presence of international stakeholders gives local businesses and tourism operators an unprecedented opportunity to showcase their work on a global stage. This is a chance to enhance Sikkim’s visibility as a responsible and aspirational travel destination,” he said.
The four-day event will feature cultural showcases, destination presentations, exhibitions, business networking sessions, and guided familiarisation tours to key tourism hotspots in and around Gangtok, helping delegates experience Sikkim’s hospitality and tourism offerings firsthand.
With its pristine landscapes, vibrant cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainable growth, Sikkim is expected to leverage the 13th International Tourism Mart to further strengthen its position on the global tourism map.
