TGI Hotels (The Great Indian Hotels) has announced a significant milestone in its expansion journey with the signing of its first-ever property in Maharashtra – a luxury beachfront hotel in Dapoli, along the scenic Mumbai–Goa highway.
Marking its entry into a new state, TGI Hotels describes the project not merely as an expansion, but as an effort to create a destination rather than just build a hotel. Strategically located right by the sea, the upcoming property is poised to add a new dimension to Dapoli’s emerging hospitality landscape.
A New Shoreline, A Bold Step Forward

The upcoming luxury beachfront hotel will feature 50 thoughtfully designed rooms, offering guests uninterrupted views and a serene coastal experience. One of the highlights of the project will be a rooftop restaurant with a swimming pool, designed to blend leisure, dining, and panoramic ocean vistas.
Spread across 11,000 square feet, the hotel will also include an all-day dining café, conference and meeting facilities, a fully equipped gym, spa and wellness spaces, and indoor experiential zones for relaxation and recreation. Currently under construction, the property is scheduled to open in 2027, making it a landmark addition to TGI Hotels’ growing portfolio.
Design Inspired by the Konkan Coast

Commenting on the new signing, Mr. Amit Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer, TGI Hotels, said the team is excited about their first property in Maharashtra. The design is inspired by the beautiful Konkan coast, keeping it simple, relaxing, and close to nature. The design philosophy reflects the natural charm of the Konkan shoreline, focusing on understated luxury, calm aesthetics, and a strong connection with the surrounding environment.
Strengthening Presence Across India
The Dapoli signing comes close on the heels of TGI Hotels strengthening its Central India presence with new Fressotel signings in Bhopal and Maheshwar, along with the recent opening of its Goa resort. These developments underline the group’s steady and strategic expansion across diverse geographies.
TGI Hotels has witnessed consistent growth over the past few years. From operating around 20 hotels across 15 locations in late 2023, the group has expanded to over 25 properties across 17 locations by early 2025, according to recent industry and social media updates.
A Growing Portfolio of Distinct Brands
TGI Hotels operates multiple hospitality brands catering to different market segments. Fressotel offers modern, business and leisure-focused hotels, while Livancia provides luxury and upscale hospitality experiences. Trishvam specializes in adventure and nature-centric stays. The company’s properties are spread across key destinations such as Bengaluru, Goa, Pondicherry, Ooty, Coorg, Jaipur, and several Tier-II and Tier-III cities, aligning with the group’s vision of tapping emerging markets.
Building Destinations, Not Just Hotels
With the Dapoli beachfront project, TGI Hotels reinforces its philosophy of “building destinations, not just hotels.” The Maharashtra signing is widely seen as a milestone moment for the group, combining strategic location, thoughtful design, and long-term vision. As anticipation builds toward its 2027 opening, the Dapoli property is expected to position TGI Hotels as a strong new player in Maharashtra’s coastal luxury hospitality segment, while further strengthening its national footprint.
