Cygnet Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Sujan Ganguly as Area Director – Operations & Pre-Opening, India & Nepal. The appointment strengthens the company’s senior leadership team as it continues to scale its portfolio across key markets in the region.
Ganguly brings to the role over three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, marked by deep operational expertise, a strong track record in hotel performance management, and a consistent ability to drive brand positioning and operational excellence across diverse property types. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles with some of India’s most recognised hospitality brands, including Taj Hotels, Fortune Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, Ginger Hotels, Royal Orchid Hotels, Lords Hotels & Resorts, Golden Tulip Hotels, and Peerless Hotels, among others – a breadth of exposure that has equipped him with an unusually comprehensive understanding of the Indian hospitality landscape.
An award-winning General Manager widely regarded for his strategic and people-centric approach to leadership, Ganguly’s expertise spans hotel operations, pre-opening management, brand development, and revenue optimisation. Throughout his career, he has maintained a particular focus on building high-performing teams and strengthening operational systems – capabilities that will be directly relevant as Cygnet continues its expansion across India and Nepal.
In his new role, Ganguly will oversee operational performance across Cygnet’s growing portfolio while also supporting pre-opening initiatives to ensure that every new property launches with the brand standards, efficiency, and guest experience quality that Cygnet stands for.
