Sri Lanka Comes to Indore: Sheraton Grand Palace Hosts a Week of Authentic Island Flavours

If the island of Sri Lanka has ever called to your senses, Sheraton Grand Palace Indore is bringing it right to your table. The hotel’s latest food festival, The Spirit of Sri Lanka, is a week-long culinary journey celebrating the bold, aromatic, and deeply comforting cuisine of the Pearl of the Indian Ocean – no passport required.

Running from March 25 to March 31, 2026, the festival offers guests a carefully curated menu that bridges the warmth of home cooking with the vibrancy of Sri Lankan street food. Expect to be introduced to dishes like Polos Ambula (raw jackfruit curry), Kiri Kaju Maluwa (creamy cashew coconut milk curry), and Annasi Maluwa (pineapple curry) – hearty, flavour-rich preparations rooted in generations of tradition. Street-style favourites such as Elawalu Kottu, Batu Moju, Amba Anama, Sinhala Achcharu, and Ala Beduma round out the experience, while the ever-popular Parippu Wade – crispy lentil fritters – add a satisfying crunch to the evening.

The menu has been crafted by Chef Luxman, who brings both expertise and passion to the spread. “Sri Lankan cuisine is a celebration of bold spices and subtle balance, deeply rooted in simplicity yet rich in flavour and character,” he shares. “Each dish on this menu reflects traditional recipes passed down through generations. We have focused on maintaining this authenticity while ensuring every guest feels at home.”

The festival is designed as an easy, no-fuss evening – equally suited to a relaxed family dinner, a night out with friends, or simply the pleasure of discovering a cuisine that is as distinctive as it is soul-satisfying. As the evening unfolds, the aromas, textures, and tastes of Sri Lanka promise to transport guests far beyond the dining table.
