ITB India 2026 Concludes in Mumbai with Strong Business Momentum

ITB India 2026 concluded at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai after three days of business meetings, networking and knowledge exchange, reaffirming India and South Asia’s growing importance on the global travel industry map. The fourth in-person edition brought together international travel brands, Indian and regional buyers, and industry leaders to explore new partnerships and business opportunities across leisure, MICE, corporate travel and travel technology.

The three-day event featured more than 100 exhibiting brands and 600 travel trade buyers. Through its structured business programme, ITB India facilitated over 4,800 one-to-one meetings, creating a focused platform for exhibitors and buyers to connect, exchange market insights and develop commercial relationships.

International participation remained a defining feature of the 2026 edition, with exhibitors from Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, Africa, Northeast Asia and South America represented on the show floor. The diverse exhibitor profile reflected the breadth of destinations, hospitality brands, travel platforms and tourism services seeking to engage with India’s expanding travel market.

Notable participants included Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta Kemayoran, Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, IHCL, MakeMyTrip, Northern Lights Villages, oneworld alliance, Philippine Airlines, Sarawak Tourism Board, Seibu Prince Hotels & Resorts, Tokyu Hotels Japan, Visit Maldives Corporation and Visit Northern Finland.

“ITB India 2026 has once again demonstrated the strong interest in India and South Asia as important growth markets for the global travel industry,” said Darren Seah, Executive Director, Messe Berlin Asia Pacific. He noted that one of the strongest responses from participants concerned the quality of business conversations across the show floor. Exhibitors and qualified buyers arrived with clear objectives, resulting in focused discussions, new connections and opportunities for future partnerships.

Seah also highlighted the strong international participation and the additional opportunities for industry dialogue created by the ITB India Conference, Cruise Capsule and inaugural Leadership Roundtable. He said the organisers were pleased with the momentum of the edition and looked forward to building on it in 2027.

A key new addition was the ITB India Leadership Roundtable, organised in partnership with global strategy consultancy Simon-Kucher. The closed-door forum brought together senior decision-makers from tourism, hospitality, travel technology, investment, destinations and government for strategic discussions on India’s evolving role in global tourism.

The exchange examined traveller segmentation, destination competitiveness, connectivity and the changing ways in which travellers discover and plan their journeys. Participants also explored how destinations could better understand India’s diverse traveller segments and position themselves to capture the next phase of market growth.

The Cruise Capsule returned for its second edition, bringing together cruise experts, travel trade leaders and MICE specialists for a dedicated programme on developments and opportunities in India’s cruise market. Discussions included cruise tourism and the emerging potential of MICE at sea.

Complementing the exhibition, the ITB India Conference 2026 offered perspectives on the forces shaping the future of travel. Across the Knowledge & MICE Theatre and Tech & Experience Theatre, the programme featured four curated tracks: Knowledge, MICE & Corporate, Travel Technology and Experiential Travel-with 40 sessions and 80 speakers delivering 1,440 minutes of content.

Topics covered MICE, corporate travel, hospitality, travel technology and evolving traveller expectations. Speakers and industry representatives included senior leaders from Accenture Technology, BCD Meetings & Events, Cipla, Deloitte India, Expedia Group, FCM Meetings & Events, IDECK Limited, MakeMyTrip, QuadLabs, Spotnana, Taj Hotels, Tripadvisor and Tripjack, among others.

Networking extended beyond the scheduled meetings and conference sessions. The ITB India Happy Hour on the opening day provided exhibitors, buyers and industry professionals with an informal setting to continue discussions and strengthen connections. Additional networking opportunities followed the Cruise Capsule, bringing together members of the cruise and MICE communities.

With its combination of targeted business appointments, international participation and strategic knowledge-sharing platforms, ITB India 2026 underlined the growing depth of India’s travel ecosystem and its increasing relevance to global tourism businesses.
