The culinary scene at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru is an ever-evolving canvas, where flavours and traditions come together to create unique culinary masterpieces. The Hotel announces an exploration of the flavourful Bhatkali cuisine on the 13th and 14th of December, at CUR8, the hotel’s signature restaurant. This two-day pop-up at Four Seasons is the third in a series of unique partnerships with Chef Pin; now showcasing the incredible talents of home chef Fatima Riyaz, whose passion and expertise infuse every dish with the rich heritage and diverse influences that characterize Bhatkal’s culinary legacy.
What Chef Fatima brings to this pop-up is more than just recipes; it is a genuine passion for preserving the authenticity of Bhatkali cuisine. Her soulful dishes tell a story of family traditions, cultural richness, and a deep connection to the roots of her culinary heritage. Chef Fatima’s transition from a homemaker to the founder of Lady & Ladle is a testament to her commitment to sharing the essence of home-cooked meals with a broader audience. “Treating family and friends visiting Bengaluru during the early years of raising my children to the flavours of our region became a tradition for me, and it is their appreciation that fuelled my culinary aspirations,” says Fatima. She infuses every creation with the warmth and authenticity reminiscent of home cooking, now adding a new plane to the Four Seasons culinary experience.
This pop-up at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru becomes a canvas where she paints with the flavours of Bhatkal, each dish a masterpiece that reflects the love, dedication, and expertise cultivated in her home kitchen. Nestled along the scenic coastline of Karnataka, Bhatkal is more than just a town; it is a melting pot of cultural diversity, and its cuisine reflects the centuries-old journey of trade between Yemen and Persia, drawn by the allure of the Konkan coast. This left an indelible mark on Bhatkali culture; and the result is a culinary landscape where local ingredients intertwine with Middle Eastern spices, creating a distinctive and tantalizing flavour profile.
Seamlessly translating her love for the kitchen into sharing these flavours of her region at Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru, Chef Fatima is poised to present unique creations like Mudkale, and Haldi Pana Nevri, that stand out as a testament to Bhatkali innovation. At the heart of her menu is the iconic Bhatkali Biryani that encapsulates the town’s multicultural roots; followed by an impressive array of desserts like Showfapana Poli and Shaala Pudding, offering a sweet conclusion to this splendid soiree.
The ambiance at CUR8 reflects the spirit of home at Bhatkal itself—warm, inviting, and steeped in cultural richness; offering a dining experience that is not just about the food on the plate but also about the cultural narrative woven into each dish.
