Air India has announced the signing of an Inventory Technical Management (“ITM”) Programme with SIA Engineering Company Limited (“SIAEC”), marking a significant partnership for the carrier.
In this 12-year agreement, Air India Group’s current fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft will benefit from comprehensive component support provided by SIAEC. These supports include access to SIAEC’s inventory pool as well as repair and overhaul services for airframe and on-wing engine components, delivered by SIAEC and its subsidiaries and joint venture companies with Original Equipment Manufacturers.
Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Air India, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to have SIAEC as our partner. The collaboration will further bolster our repairs and maintenance competencies for the Airbus 320 family of aircraft and enhance our reliability and availability of components for aircraft operations.”
Chin Yau Seng, Chief Executive Officer of SIAEC, also expressed his appreciation for being chosen as Air India Group’s preferred MRO partner and affirmed his confidence in their Inventory Technical Management program. He highlighted the role of their proven model in supporting Air India Group’s growth and expansion plans, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable service through their network of joint venture companies and component shops across the Asia Pacific region.
Air India currently operates a fleet of A320 family aircraft and has placed orders for an additional 210 A320 family aircraft, as part of the historic order of 470 aircraft placed in 2023.
