In response to growing travel demand, Air India has announced a significant expansion of its services to three key international destinations: Bangkok, Colombo, and Kathmandu. The new flight schedules are set to commence on July 7, 2025, adding over 7,000 seats weekly across these popular routes.
The airline will introduce a sixth daily flight between Delhi and Kathmandu, elevating the weekly frequency from 35 to 42 flights. Service between Delhi and Colombo will be doubled, moving from one to two daily flights, which increases the weekly frequency from seven to fourteen. Additionally, a third daily flight will be added between Mumbai and Bangkok, raising the service from 13 to 18 flights per week.
These additions are strategically timed to enhance connectivity, providing travelers with seamless one-stop routes to and from destinations in North America, Europe, and the Far East. The airline confirmed that the new flights to Bangkok and Kathmandu will be operated using its narrowbody aircraft, which feature a three-class cabin configuration that includes a Premium Economy option.
With this expansion, Air India’s total weekly operations will increase to 42 flights for Kathmandu, 28 for Colombo, and 46 for Bangkok.
The new daily service from Delhi to Colombo (AI277) will depart at 3:25 AM, arriving at 7:15 AM, with the return flight (AI278) leaving Colombo at 8:20 AM. The added flight from Mumbai to Bangkok (AI2340) is scheduled to depart at 4:00 AM, arriving at 10:10 AM, while the return leg (AI2339) will depart Bangkok at 11:15 AM. The sixth daily flight to Kathmandu from Delhi (AI2231) will leave at 9:00 PM, with the return flight (AI2232) departing the following morning at 6:30 AM, starting July 8, 2025.
