Celebrating National Tourism Day 2025: A New Dawn for Indian Tourism

National Tourism Day 2025 serves as a momentous occasion to honour India’s remarkable journey in the travel and tourism sector while embracing future possibilities with renewed aspirations. As Indian travellers increasingly explore global destinations, Mrs Jyoti Mayal, CEO of Redhat Communications and Chairperson of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), underscores the pivotal role of the upcoming World Travel & Tourism Festival 2025 in shaping a more inclusive and empowered tourism industry.

Scheduled to take place from February 14 to 16, 2025, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, India Gate, the festival marks a groundbreaking collaboration between TV9 Network and Redhat Communications. This unique event aims to unite the entire travel and tourism ecosystem, including industry leaders and grassroots entrepreneurs, offering attendees an immersive and unforgettable experience. Covering an expansive 45,000 sq. ft., the festival will feature personalized travel consultations, expert-led discussions, and extensive networking opportunities with industry veterans. Additionally, it will host a vibrant music concert, cultural performances, a dedicated food zone, a travel technology showcase, and various competitions to engage visitors.

Reflecting on the importance of National Tourism Day, Mrs Mayal stated, “Tourism extends beyond discovering new destinations; it is about building connections, fostering understanding, and driving economic growth. With India’s tourism sector poised for transformation, the World Travel & Tourism Festival 2025 will catalyze celebration, collaboration, and innovation.”

The festival is poised to redefine the travel experience by offering a comprehensive exploration of the industry’s multifaceted nature. From cultural performances that highlight India’s rich heritage to travel technology exhibits showcasing innovations revolutionizing the industry, the event will cater to diverse interests. Attendees will benefit from tailored travel consultations, allowing them to design bespoke itineraries. Culinary enthusiasts can indulge in a dedicated food and cuisine zone, while adventure seekers and families can participate in exciting competitions and activities aimed at igniting wanderlust.

Emphasizing the critical need for skill development in the tourism sector, Mrs. Mayal, a staunch advocate of workforce empowerment, remarked, “To position India as a global tourism leader, investing in human capital is imperative. Skilling is the backbone of our industry. Whether it’s training hospitality professionals to meet global standards or empowering artisans and small business owners with the necessary tools, skill development is essential to prepare the tourism value chain for the future.”

The vision of the World Travel & Tourism Festival 2025 extends beyond offering extraordinary experiences; it aims to foster collaboration and create opportunities for small businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs who constitute the backbone of India’s tourism ecosystem. By providing a unique platform to connect with a global audience, the festival will unlock new growth avenues and visibility for these stakeholders.

National Tourism Day 2025 and the World Travel & Tourism Festival together promise to usher in a transformative era for the Indian tourism industry, inspiring stakeholders and travellers alike to embrace the limitless possibilities of the future.
