Dr. P. Murugesan has been elected as the President of the Tamilnadu Travel Mart Society for the 2023-2026 terms. Tamilnadu Travel Mart Society represents the travel, tourism, airline, and hospitality industry in Tamil Nadu, held its annual general body meeting in Chennai on September 27, 2023, during which Dr. Murugesan and Mr. Muzzaffer Ahmed were elected as President and Honorary Secretary, respectively,. Ms. Poorna Deepika has also been chosen as the Honorary Treasurer.
Dr. Murugesan is a renowned travel professional from South India, serving as the Director of Pioneer Aero Travels Madras Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai and a National Executive Committee member of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI). Mr. Muzzaffer Ahmed is the CEO of Millath Haj Services in Chennai, while Ms. Poorna Deepika holds the position of Director at Broadway for Consulting Travel & Tours, Chennai.
In addition to the top leadership, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) has elected Mr. K. Sapru Mathew (CEO, Chester Holidays), Mr. R. Kumar (CEO & Head, New Travel Experts), Mr. R. Pandian (Managing Director, Charu Travels and Tours Pvt. Ltd.), and Mr. A. Johnson (Director, JRA Travel Services Pvt. Ltd.) as Vice Presidents. Mrs. Yamini Krishnan (Proprietrix, Mayur Travel Corporation) has been appointed as the Joint Honorary Secretary for the upcoming term.
The management committee comprises ten members, including Mr. A.P. Sampath (General Manager, GRT Hotels & Resorts), Mr. M.K. Regil (General Manager, JR Travel Services), Mr. C. Dhurai Ramesh (Managing Director, Travel Knights Pvt Ltd.), Mr. Mustafa Khan (Proprietor, Global International Travel Services), Mr. G. Raju (Proprietor, Chennai Raja Travel Services), Mr. M. Momean Sadam (Director, Sun International Tours and Travels), Mr. Dhatchhayini (Director, State Express Travels Pvt Ltd.), Mr. P. Maharajan (Partner, South Indian Routes), Mr. Surya Narayanan (General Manager, Madras Travels And Tours Pvt Ltd.), and Mr. Syed Niyamuthullah (General Manager, Ahmed World Travels Tours & Cargo Pvt Ltd.).
The Tamilnadu Travel Mart Society extended its gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for releasing the Tamil Nadu Tourism Policy 2023 which grants industry status to the tourism sector, aims to attract INR 20,000 crore in investments, providing benefits to tourism projects and stakeholders, ultimately leading to increased employment opportunities and training.
