Minor Hotels Appoints Patrik Ilstam as General Manager of Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort and Villas Thailand

Minor Hotels has appointed Patrik Ilstam as the General Manager of Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort and Villas, a luxurious new resort encompassing 148 rooms, suites, and villas situated on the breathtaking Koh Yao Yai island in Thailand.

As an accomplished pre-opening hotelier, Patrik has held several senior management positions within international five-star hotels across Southeast Asia for the past two decades. His most recent role was as the General Manager at Burasari Phuket Resort, where he adeptly navigated the challenges posed by the pandemic and initiated the ‘Green Committee’ to enforce sustainable operational practices and goals. His dedication and efforts led the property to earn the prestigious Green Hotel Gold Level award.

Patrik boasts a rich operational background, commencing his career with various room division roles at Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. He was also a key contributor to the pre-opening operations of several hotels and resorts, including the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort and Sheraton Hoi An Tam Ky in Vietnam, as well as Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.

A Swedish national, Patrik is fluent in Danish, Norwegian, English, and Thai. He holds a diploma from the International Tourism & Hotel Management School in Thailand. During his free time, he enjoys spending quality moments with his family and pursuing hobbies that range from aerospace technology to travel.
