Kolkata: The age-old practice of cake mixing, believed to usher in good luck and prosperity for the impending festive season, took center stage at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat. The hotel launched the festive season with a splendid Cake Mixing Ceremony on November 18, 2023, by the poolside. This cheerful event marked the initiation of the Yuletide season, introducing the essence of togetherness, joy, and the festive anticipation of Christmas.
Set within the opulent premises of the property, the event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including hotel patrons, local dignitaries, bloggers/influencers, and high-net-worth individuals from the city, such as Satrajit Sen with his wife Sudheshna, Prithviraj Choudhury, Sudarshan Chakravorty, Mariam Zaki, Kushal Mehta, Indrajit Lahiri, among others. All gathered to partake in the time-honored cake-mixing ceremony. Renowned chefs and culinary experts were also present, showcasing their skills and expertise in creating the perfect blend of ingredients for the Christmas cakes.
Amidst a delightful outdoor setup adorned with festive decorations and twinkling lights, participants donned chef hats and aprons, enthusiastically engaging in the cake mixing. The air was filled with laughter, joy, and a sense of unity as everyone happily combined various ingredients, including fruits, nuts, spices, and spirits—all steeped in the Christmas spirit.
Post the cake-mixing ceremony, the hotel treated its guests to a delectable spread of Christmas-themed appetizers, concoctions, and beverages, featuring the newly launched Kolkata Bread Company. This allowed everyone to continue the festivities in style, ensuring that the evening was not just about mixing cakes but also indulging in the seasonal flavors.
