FITUR Sports 2024, the dedicated section to sports tourism at the upcoming International Tourism Trade Fair FITUR 2024, is gearing up to shine the spotlight on three key areas: Outdoor Sports, Competitive Sports, and Sports Events & Sports Business Travel. Scheduled to take place from January 24 to 28, this event organized by IFEMA MADRID is set to become a pivotal occasion, attracting major players and professionals from both the tourism and sports industries.

In response to the growing significance of sports tourism globally and in Spain, FITUR Sports is expanding significantly for its second edition. To accommodate this expansion, the event has extended its calendar to include three professional days (24-26 January). This enhancement allows for a robust program featuring talks and round tables led by top experts in tourism and sports. These sessions will delve into industry challenges, address the latest trends, and provide spaces for knowledge-sharing and business opportunities. Additionally, professionals will have networking opportunities through exhibitors’ tables and work meetings.

On January 24, FITUR Sports 2024 will dedicate its focus to Outdoor Sports, exploring trends in active and adventure sports tourism, destination management, Next Generation fund management, and the development of products promoting various destinations. The discussions will cover sports tourism in cities, the impact of professional leagues, team travel, medical travel for sports-related reasons, trends in organizing and marketing training camps and tournaments, hotel models, and the future of sports resorts.

Concluding the professional days on January 26, FITUR Sports 2024 will focus on Sports Events and sports Business Travel. This segment will explore major sporting events targeting both event audiences and participatory sports enthusiasts, including marathons. Discussions will include trends in sports marketing and corporate travel in the MICE sports segment.

Throughout the weekend, FITUR Sports 2024 will open its monographic section on sports tourism to visitors. This section will showcase the growing trend of paddle tennis, featuring a court hosting exhibition matches and clinics with renowned players and coaches. Paddle tennis has become a significant asset for the tourism industry, with modernized sports facilities and new offerings in tourist resorts. The weekend activities aim to engage the general public with sports content, celebrating the popularity of paddle tennis.
