Grand Hyatt Gurgaon Taps NCR Market Expert Sonam Phogat to Lead Commercial Growth

Grand Hyatt Gurgaon has appointed Sonam Phogat as its new Director of Sales & Marketing, bringing to the role a career spanning over 15 years across some of India’s most recognised luxury and upper-upscale hotel brands.
Sonam’s journey through the hospitality industry reads as a masterclass in commercial leadership. She has built her expertise across the full spectrum of revenue-generating disciplines – corporate sales, MICE, weddings, diplomatic accounts, airline partnerships, OTAs, travel trade, and leisure – developing a rounded understanding of how luxury hotels grow in one of the world’s most competitive hospitality markets. Her most recent role was Director of Sales at Pullman and Novotel New Delhi Aerocity, where she simultaneously led commercial strategy across two flagship properties. Earlier chapters of her career include leadership positions at The Westin Resort & Spa Gurgaon, ITC Hotels, Hyatt Regency Delhi, and The Leela Ambience Gurugram – a lineage that reflects both range and depth.
At Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, she will head the hotel’s Sales & Marketing function, driving commercial strategy, revenue optimisation, brand visibility, and market expansion, with a particular focus on reinforcing the property’s standing as a premier destination for business, leisure, weddings, and large-scale events in the Delhi NCR market.
Tarun Seth, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, welcomed the appointment, noting that Sonam’s deep familiarity with the NCR hospitality landscape and her track record of delivering commercial results made her a natural fit for the leadership team.
