The grand reopening of Amritha Heritage, formerly known as Hotel Amritha, is set to capture the essence of regal luxury intertwined with modernity. Union Minister Suresh Gopi will inaugurate this renovated heritage hotel on November 11 at 10:30 am, bringing back a legendary venue that once served as a haven for movie stars.
Originally the Essenden Bungalow, a mansion dating back to the early 1900s, Amritha Heritage has undergone a thoughtful transformation while preserving its colonial and Portuguese-inspired aesthetics. This single-storey architectural gem, located in Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, reflects a harmonious blend of Travancore and Portuguese design, nestled within lush greenery and manicured gardens.
Amritha Heritage now features five elegant rooms with heritage furniture and state-of-the-art amenities, combining nostalgia with modern comfort. Kohinoor Restaurant, known for its signature dishes, reopens to delight guests with a menu that merges European, Indian, and oriental flavours. Notably, the dining experience has been extended to the lawns, marking a unique offering in the city.
Managing Director Krishna Prasad emphasized the focus on quality and exceptional service, aiming to provide an unforgettable experience for each guest. “We will focus on quality and service to ensure utmost satisfaction for every visitor,” he said . The restored mansion’s central hall and charming verandas echo Kerala’s vintage opulence, now refreshed with contemporary hospitality standards to captivate history enthusiasts and new visitors alike.
