The 39th Annual Convention of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is set to take place in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. A delegation from IATO, led by Mr Rajiv Mehra, President, along with Mr. Ravi Gosain, Vice President, and Mr. Mahendra Pratap Singh, Chairman of the IATO Madhya Pradesh Chapter, met with Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, to extend a formal invitation for the event. Accompanied by Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, IAS, Principal Secretary of Tourism & Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, the delegation discussed the convention’s details and secured the Chief Minister’s agreement to inaugurate the event on August 30, 2024.
The Chief Minister expressed his full support for the convention, as did Mr Shukla, emphasizing the significance of tourism in the state’s development. Mr. Rajiv Mehra, President of IATO, expressed confidence in the success of the convention with the support of Madhya Pradesh Tourism.
IATO’s annual conventions play a vital role in promoting tourism across India. With a diverse membership spanning various segments, IATO conventions serve as premier platforms for state governments to showcase their tourism offerings. Previous conventions have resulted in significant increases in tourist arrivals, both domestic and international, for the host states.
The upcoming convention promises a range of activities, including business sessions, tourism exhibitions, a marketing innovation competition, cultural events, and social functions.
