The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality company in India, has officially revealed the signing of a hotel in Bandra, Mumbai. Designated as a Brownfield project, the property will carry the IHCL-SeleQtions brand.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and development at IHCL, commented on the signing, stating, “This aligns with IHCL’s vision to expand its presence in key micro markets within major cosmopolitan cities. Often referred to as the ‘Queen of Suburbs,’ Bandra, renowned for its celebrity residences, is equally famous for its shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and heritage sites. Positioned adjacent to the prominent commercial hub of Bandra Kurla Complex, this will mark the second IHCL-SeleQtions branded hotel in Mumbai. We are thrilled to collaborate with Polson Ltd. for this venture.”
Strategically located on Turner Road, one of Bandra’s upscale neighborhoods, the 43-room hotel will feature an all-day dinner. Spanning from the third to the fourteenth floor, the property is part of a mixed-use development housing high-end retail outlets and restaurants.
Mr. Amol Kapadia, Managing Director of Polson Ltd., expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with IHCL, India’s leading hospitality company, for our inaugural property. IHCL – SeleQtions is the perfect brand for this hotel given its defining location.”
Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, serves as both the financial and entertainment capital of India. With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in Maharashtra now comprises 33 hotels across Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands, including 11 establishments currently under development.
