INTRODUCING THE FABERGÉ X REGENT SEVEN SEAS CRUISES ‘JOURNEY IN JEWELS’ EGG OBJET

Fabergé, the globally renowned artist jeweler, has joined forces with Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, the foremost luxury ocean cruise line, to create an exclusive egg object like no other. The Fabergé x Regent ‘Journey in Jewels’ Egg Objét stands as the crowning piece in Regent’s impressive 1600-piece art collection, showcased aboard its newest vessel, Seven Seas Grandeur™. Notably, it is the first Fabergé egg to find a permanent home at sea.

Sarah Fabergé, Founding Member of the Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé, was bestowed the role of Godmother for Seven Seas Grandeur™ by the Regent. She unveiled the ‘Journey in Jewels’ egg during the ship’s christening ceremony in Miami, Florida, on December 10, 2023. At the exclusive gala event, Sarah adorned bespoke Fabergé x Regent Earrings and Ring, inspired by ‘Journey in Jewels,’ which will be auctioned to support the Gemfields Foundation.

“I am honored to have been chosen as Godmother to this exceptional new ship which, like Fabergé, has been inspired by the past and reimagined for the future,” expressed Sarah Fabergé.

As the appointed Godmother, Sarah Fabergé is set to host a Fabergé Spotlight Voyage aboard Seven Seas Grandeur™, commencing on July 1, 2024. This voyage will immerse luxury travelers in the world of Fabergé through small group master-class programs, exclusive shore-side tours, jeweled egg demonstrations, lectures, and screenings.

Crafted in England, the distinctive Fabergé x Regent ‘Journey in Jewels’ draws inspiration from the seven seas traversed by Regent’s ships. It features an array of colorful gemstones mirroring the ocean’s hues, complemented by guilloché enamel and ombre lacquering representing the waters, sunrises, and sunsets witnessed aboard Regent’s ships.

Designed by Liisa Tallgren, Fabergé’s Head of Design, and overseen by Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Fabergé’s Creative Director, the Fabergé x Regent ‘Journey in Jewels’ Egg Objét has been meticulously crafted using time-honored techniques. The production was supervised by Fabergé Workmaster, Paul Jones, at his workshop in southern England. Jones, known for creating the Fabergé x Game of Thrones and Fabergé x Rolls-Royce Motor Cars egg objects, oversaw the entire journey from sketch to the final creation, which took a year and a half.

The outer ‘shell’ of the egg exhibits a captivating ombre of blues, symbolizing the colors of the sea. This ‘shell’ comprises seven intricate blades, resembling waves breaking into a ‘sea foam’ of pearls and white diamonds at the tips—a truly extraordinary aesthetic feat.

The majestic egg rests on a plinth adorned with emeralds, tsavorites, blue sapphires, and white diamonds, set in Fabergé’s ‘Emotion’ pavé style. The colorful gems are thoughtfully chosen to evoke the ocean’s colors. This gem-set plinth is anchored to a stand reflecting layers of waves accented with pearls and diamonds at the edges—a design element paying homage to the helm of Seven Seas Grandeur™.

True to the tradition of Fabergé eggs, there is more than meets the eye. By delicately rotating the pearl ‘helm’ anti-clockwise, the seven blades, symbolizing the ‘seven seas,’ gracefully open in unison to reveal a hidden surprise within.
