ITDC Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on the Theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”, Reinforcing the Spirit of Integrity and Ethical Governance

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from 27th October to 2nd November 2025.

The spirit of a corruption-free and vigilant India took center stage last week, driven by a series of dynamic activities organized by students of the AIHTM (Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management). The initiative, designed to mark Vigilance Awareness Week, successfully brought together participants to reflect on and promote ethical conduct.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC, said: “Observing Vigilance Awareness Week gives ITDC an opportunity to reflect, engage and collectively reaffirm our commitment to transparency & accountability. The Tourism and Hospitality – or any other industry – rests on the foundation of ethical conduct.”

Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, CVO, ITDC added: “In line with Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) directives, ITDC continues to strengthen preventive vigilance measures across its Offices and Hotels, including timely disposal of complaints, enhanced asset management systems and digital vigilance initiatives.’’

The week’s schedule was packed with engaging competitive events that saw enthusiastic participation. Students and attendees shared their perspectives through various platforms, including: Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Debate Competitions and Quiz Competitions. These events encouraged participants to creatively express their personal vision for transparency and integrity in the nation.

Building Capacity and Spreading Awareness

Beyond the student-led competitions, the week also featured targeted educational initiatives. External experts conducted interactive sessions, notably a capacity-building workshop on preventive vigilance specifically held for ITDC (India Tourism Development Corporation) employees. This workshop was strategically designed to enhance the awareness of ITDC staff and foster a deeply rooted culture of integrity throughout the organization.

Community Engagement and Collective Commitment

Demonstrating a strong commitment to community outreach, ITDC incorporated a powerful street play, or Nukkad Natak, into the week’s events. Performed by AIHTM students, the play served as an impactful tool to spread awareness about the importance of vigilance in daily life, reaching a wider audience outside the formal setting.

The collective commitment to ethical conduct was visually affirmed by a Walkathon, which served as a symbolic demonstration of unity. The event was officially flagged off by the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of ITDC, highlighting the leadership’s dedication to transparency and ethical standards.

The successful completion of the week’s events marks a significant step in the ongoing effort to instill values of honesty and vigilance among the participants and the wider ITDC community.
