JAYACHANDRAN V G will lead TGFSI

The 14th Annual General Body meeting of Tourist Guides Federation of South India TGFSI, the largest organisation of Regional Level Tourist Guides in the southern region, licensed under the Ministry of Tourism Govt of India was held at Sangam Hotel, Thanjavur on 21-22 April. The first in-person meeting after the pandemic was well attended by delegates from Andhra Pradesh,  Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry and Tamilnadu, and Telangana. The meeting unanimously elected the new office bearers.

JAYACHANDRAN V G (KERALA) is elected as President and J. JAISIGH (TAMILNADU) as  Vice President.  MADHU P (TELANGANA)  is the General Secretary Adv. KUMUDAKASHI (KARNATAKA)  and SRIKANTH S (KERALA) are the Joint Secretaries and  ARUN KUMAR (KERALA) is Treasurer. Meeting decided to strengthen the stand against the wrong policies of the Indian tour in inducting hundreds of unqualified people as facilitators and challenge the livelihood of the professional tour guides in the country.

The AGM reiterated the commitment to work together with Indian tourism and all other stakeholders for improving the quality of tourism services to the Global standards.
