Reliance Industries Limited announced the grand opening of Jio World Plaza, an immersive and unparalleled retail destination that is set to redefine the standards of luxury shopping and entertainment in India. Nestled strategically in the heart of Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), Jio World Plaza (JWP) opens its doors to the public on November 1. This plaza seamlessly intertwines with the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the Jio World Convention Centre, and the Jio World Garden, transforming it into a holistic destination for visitors.
Isha M Ambani, Director at Reliance Industries Limited, shared her thoughts on the launch, stating, “The Jio World Plaza is our vision brought to life. It is designed to bring the finest global brands to India while showcasing the craftsmanship and excellence of top Indian brands, creating a truly unique retail experience. Our relentless pursuit of excellence, innovation, and enhancing the customer experience continues to drive us forward in every endeavor.”
This meticulously designed Plaza is conceived as an exclusive hub for retail, leisure, and dining, spanning four levels across a sprawling 7,50,000 square feet area. It boasts an impressive roster of 66 luxury brands, including notable international newcomers to the Indian market, such as Balenciaga, the Giorgio Armani Café, Pottery Barn Kids, Samsung Experience Centre, EL&N Café, and Rimowa. The Plaza introduces Mumbai to its first stores of Valentino, Tory Burch, YSL, Versace, Tiffany, Ladurée, and Pottery Barn, alongside iconic flagships like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Cartier, Bally, Giorgio Armani, Dior, YSL, and Bulgari.
JWP is also home to renowned designers such as Manish Malhotra, Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, Rahul Mishra, Falguni Shane Peacock, and Ri By Ritu Kumar, among others.
The architectural design of JWP, inspired by the lotus flower and elements of nature, is a result of a collaborative effort between TVS, a prestigious international architecture and design firm based in the United States, and the Reliance team. The shopping concourse features meticulously placed sculptural columns, ensuring design continuity throughout the space. Marble-clad floors, vaulted ceilings, and a play of soft lighting come together harmoniously to create a backdrop that epitomizes the essence of luxury.
Under the visionary leadership of Ms. Isha Ambani, JWP has been envisioned with a strong focus on enhancing the customer experience. The Plaza offers a contemporary sculpture by Jitish Kallat to welcome visitors on the first level, and the third level is dedicated to entertainment, housing a multiplex theater and a well-curated gourmet food emporium, along with world-class restaurants, providing shoppers with a holistic retail experience. Services such as personal shopping assistance, VIP concierge, taxi-on-call, wheelchair services, hands-free shopping with baggage drop, butler service, and baby strollers underscore the Plaza’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Ms. Isha Ambani emphasized, “The Jio World Plaza is more than a retail destination; it’s an embodiment of aesthetics, culture, and leisure.”
