Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) has elected Mr. K. Syama Raju, Managing Director of Hotel Maurya, Bengaluru, as their new President for the 2023-2025 term, during the 4th Annual General Body Meeting, which took place on September 26th at Hotel Maurya, Bengaluru.
Mr. S. Mahalingaiah, Director of Skyway International Travels, is the new Secretary, and Mr. Vineet Verma, ED & CEO of Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd., has been elected as the Vice President. Mr. Manoj Mathew, SVP Operations at Tamara Leisure Experiences, serves as Joint Secretary, and Mr. G. K. Shetty, Chairman of Swathi Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd., takes on the role of Treasurer.
The M also selected Mr. Amish Desai, Director of Beleast Travels Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Ayappa Somaiah, Director of Tattava Trails; Mr. Jagadeesh H, Director of BIG Travels; and Mr. P. C. Rao, Director of Idealsolutions Pvt. Ltd., as Managing Committee members, while Mr. H.T. Ratnakar will be the Convener of the Karnataka Tourism Society for 2023 – 2025 period.
Founded in 2019, the Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS) aims to promote tourism in Karnataka and safeguard the interests of all tourism stakeholders. In the short time since its establishment, KTS has successfully advocated for numerous business-friendly benefits for tourism stakeholders through close collaboration with government officials. Some of the key initiatives achieved by KTS include securing a 20% discount for co-participation at national and international exhibitions and events involving the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, industry status designation for star hotels, relaxed business operations during the latter part of the pandemic, organizing networking events for stakeholders across Karnataka with support from the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, hosting the 1st edition of the Karnataka International Travel Expo (KITE), a B2B event attended by over 400 tour operators and travel agents from India and abroad, and leading FAM trips showcasing Karnataka. KTS also collaborated with the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, to draft the Karnataka Tourism Policy for the period 2021-2026.”
