Kannur in North Kerala is abuzz with excitement as it prepares to host the second edition of the North Malabar Travel Bazaar (NMTB) on November 23 and 24, 2024. This highly anticipated event is organized under the auspices of NOMTO (North Malabar Tourism Organization), a joint venture of the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce and local tourism entrepreneurs.
The two-day event will be inaugurated on November 23 at 9:30 AM at the Chamber of Commerce Hall, Kannur by Mr PA Mohammad Riaz, Minister for Tourism, Kerala. Mr. T.K. Ramesh Kumar, President of NOMTO, will chair the function, which will also feature addresses from Mr. Jose Pradeep, President, Kerala Travel Mart Society; Mr C. Dinesh Kumar, MD, Kannur International Airport Ltd.; Mr Issac Francis, Director, Santa Monica Travel & Tours, Kochi; Padmashri SRD. Prasad, Chief Patron, NOMTO. Special guests include Mr. Roy Mathew of Wayanad Tourism Organisation and Mr. Swaminathan, Secretary of KTM Society.
The North Malabar Travel Bazaar event highlights B2B Meets between visiting tour operators from across the country and tourism stakeholders from the region, Exciting Exhibitors, Networking Opportunities, Public Day and Cultural Extravaganza during these days.
The North Malabar Travel Bazaar is a platform designed to foster interaction between 200 tour operators from across India and 80 tourism entrepreneurs and service providers from North Malabar. This year, the event extends its reach to include the Wayanad region, emphasizing the potential of the North Malabar-Wayanad tourism circuit.
“Collaboration is key to unlocking the full potential of our region’s tourism. The North Malabar-Wayanad circuit will open new avenues for growth,” said Ramesh Kumar, President of NOMTO.
While November 23 is reserved for guests, the event will open to the public on November 24, offering free access to the stalls. Visitors will experience the rich culture of North Malabar through performances such as Kolkali, Duff Mutt, Poorkali, Thiruvathira, Mohiniyattam, and Theyyam, scheduled at 6 PM at Krishna Beach Resort.

The team effort of NOMTO and the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce is the driving force behind this initiative, creating an avenue to showcase the region’s tourism potential. “This is a proud moment for us,” remarked Ramesh Kumar, “as we build stronger connections with tour operators and promote the uniqueness of North Malabar and Wayanad.”
The event promises to be a milestone in the promotion of North Malabar’s tourism potential, offering unparalleled networking opportunities and cultural showcases.
