Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS) has bagged the Metro Expedition Tourism Award 2024 for the best contribution in the tourism-education category.
The award is instituted by Metro Expedition to honour outstanding contributions under various categories in the tourism and hospitality industry.
KITTS Director Dr Dileep MR received the award from Ms J Chinchu Rani, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, here on Wednesday at a function held at Classical Imperial Cruise. Mr. Mano Thangaraj, Tamil Nadu Minister for Milk and Dairy Development attended the function while Kochi Corporation Mayor Mr . M Anil Kumar presided over the function.
Mr K.J. Maxi MLA, Mr E.M. Najeeb, President, Confederation of Kerala Tourism Industry, Mr. M.R Narayanan, Vice President, South Kerala Hoteliers Forum, Mr. Baiju Gopalan, Managing Director, Mr. Sree Gokulam Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Kottukal Krishnakumar, General Secretary, Kerala Tourism Development Association and Mr. Prasad Manjali, Award Judging Committee Chairman were present at the function.
Set up by the state government to create a pool of well-skilled human resources in the tourism and hospitality sector, KITTS has produced hundreds of highly skilled professionals over the years.
KITTS is an affiliated member of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and is an authorised learning centre of IATA (International Air Transport Association). KITTS offers over 10 industry-based courses including MBA and conducts free training programs for the state and central governments.
