Lilac Hotels Guruvayur inaugurated, Marks Tamara Leisure Experiences’ Third Hotel in Kerala

Marking the first Lilac Hotels property in Kerala, Tamara Leisure Experiences officially inaugurated Lilac Hotels Guruvayur on September 21st, making it the brand’s third property in Kerala- God’s Own Country’s temple town Guruvayur. Strategically located at an unbeatable 550 metres from Guruvayur Temple in South Nada, the hotel has been crafted to cater to the growing demand for comfort and convenience in spiritual tourism in the region.

The inauguration was graced by Mr M B Rajesh, Minister for Local Self Governments, Rural Development and Excise, Government of Kerala, Mr N.K, Akbar MLA of Guruvayur Constituency, Mr M Krishnadas, Chairman of Guruvayur Municipality, Dr V K Vijayan, Chairman of Guruvayur Devaswom, Ms Shobha Harinarayanan, Ward Councillor, Guruvayur Municipality, Ms Shruti Shibulal, CEO and Director of Tamara Leisure Experiences and Mr Manoj Mathew, Sr. Vice President, Tamara Leisure Experiences.

During the inauguration, Ms. Shruti Shibulal, CEO and Director of Tamara Leisure Experiences, highlighted the significance of the new hotel and said “Lilac Hotels Guruvayur holds immense personal significance and remains strategically important to Tamara’s long-term vision of expansion in the spiritual tourism sector. We are committed to furthering our presence in Kerala, while also expanding nationally and internationally.” Ms Shibulal highlighted the booming wedding tourism industry in Guruvayur, referencing the remarkable record of 334 weddings in a single day at the Guruvayur Temple, earlier in September. She emphasised the hotel’s commitment to being at the heart of this growing trend, offering unparalleled services and facilities to cater to the increasing demand for memorable wedding experiences.

Tamara Leisure Experiences will expand the Lilac Hotels brand in Tamil Nadu with a project in Velankanni. Kerala will also see properties opening up in Kannur and Alappuzha. The company has also set its sights on an entry into North India, beginning with Bodh Gaya in Bihar, as a key destination.

Lilac Hotel Guruvayur offers 36 well-appointed rooms, including those that are interconnected, making it an ideal choice for families, groups, and visitors attending temple events, weddings, or ceremonies. With a capacity to host up to 94 guests, the hotel also features Kesar, a multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant, and Utsava, an elegant banquet hall with a capacity of 275 to 300. Additionally, the hotel has a Sadhya Hall that can accommodate 100 guests for traditional Kerala feasts.
