With a vision to highlight the tourism products of the Malabar region, the Malabar Tourism Council (MTC) has taken the initiative to organize the second edition of the Malabar Tourism Meet (MTM) at Hotel Appollo Dimoro, Calicut from September 22 to 24 to familiarise the tourism potential of north Kerala to the world.
The digital logo of the event was recently released at Kozhikode by Mr. M.P.M. Mubashir, President of Malabar Tourism Society at Apollo Dimora Hotel., Kozhikode.
Mr. Mubashir said the event highlights the trends in travel, especially in the Malabar region, and will help international and domestic buyers to understand the opportunities in Malabar. The event was presided over by Mr. Sajeer Padikal, President – Malabar Tourism Council.
Mr. TPM Hashir Ali, Advisory board member, MTC; Mr. Raffi Puthior, President of the Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Gulam Hussain Kolakadan, Secretary, Dream Chaliyar; Mr. Amin Nechikadan, Vice President, Malabar Tourism Society; Mr. Rajeesh Raghavan, Secretary, Malabar Tourism Council and Mr. Yazar Arafath, Treasurer, Malabar Tourism Council also spoke about the event.
Mr. Sajeer Padikkal, President of MTC said, from time immemorial, the Malabar region of Kerala has been a hotspot for Travel enthusiasts and people of Malabar travel around the world in search of new avenues for centuries. With two international airports, an abundance of beautiful landscapes, colorful culture, and delicious cuisine Malabar attracts both Inbound and Outbound tourism. With this in mind, Travel Professionals from the Northern districts of Kerala came together to start Malabar Tourism Council in 2022 with a vision to promote Malabar as a destination.
As a strong group of 200 members includes representatives from Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Experience sellers, Hotels, Resorts & Hospitality providers. In a short span of close to a year, MTC has grown from a small association to one which has garnered many accolades by way of its active participation in events, conducting FAM tours for its members & empowering the industry with new trends
Mr. Rajeesh Raghavan, Secretary, Malabar Tourism Council said that the Malabar Tourism Meet is a B2B event that gathers stakeholders from the tourism industry in the Malabar region of Kerala. We are planning to showcase 200 plus exhibitors from Malabar regions and host 500 plus travel agents, tour operators, and travel media delegates from across the country. We are also expecting more than 1000 tour operators and travel agents from South India as non-hosted buyers, apart from 10000 plus travel-loving public from northern districts of Kerala. It is a platform for networking, information sharing, and partnership building between local and international tourism businesses including tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, government representatives, and any other stakeholders related to the tourism industry.
The event promotes partnerships, shares industry insights, showcases the culture of Malabar, and encourages the growth of healthy and responsible tourism in Malabar.
