Malaysia Airlines Increases Frequencies to Trivandrum from September 2025 Following Strong Demand
Due to consistently strong passenger demand on its Kuala Lumpur – Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) route, Malaysia Airlines is expanding its service to South India. The airline will add a fifth weekly flight to Thiruvananthapuram beginning September 12, 2025, with plans to operate daily flights from December 1, 2025. Tickets for these new services are now available through Malaysia Airlines’ official channels and authorized travel agencies.

This increased frequency underscores Malaysia Airlines’ dedication to the Indian market, providing travelers with enhanced flexibility and connectivity between India and Malaysia. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the route, which initially launched in November 2023 with two weekly flights and increased to four times a week by April 2024. Operating from its primary hub in Kuala Lumpur, the airline continues to strengthen its role as a key gateway to Asia and beyond.

Mr. Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group, stated, “India remains a crucial market for Malaysia Airlines, and this frequency increase demonstrates our commitment to meeting the growing demand for air travel from South India. By introducing daily flights to Thiruvananthapuram in December, we are well-positioned to offer both leisure and business travelers greater convenience and support the flow of trade and tourism between our two nations. Beyond connectivity, we are proud to offer our renowned Malaysian Hospitality throughout the entire journey, ensuring a warm, dependable, and memorable travel experience that embodies our brand values.”
Malaysia Airlines currently operates 77 weekly flights to ten major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Thiruvananthapuram. With these new additions, the total number of weekly flights will rise to 80 by December 2025.
International travelers flying with Malaysia Airlines can also take advantage of the Bonus Side Trip (BST) program, which provides a domestic flight to one of seven Malaysian destinations at no extra base fare. This added benefit allows international travelers to explore Malaysia’s rich culture, diverse nature, and heritage as part of a single itinerary.
