Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, is actively pushing for a stronger global tourism presence in the state, and this endeavor was exemplified by the inauguration of the new luxury hotel, Hyatt Place, in Vijayawada.
During the unveiling of the hotel’s plaque, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized the state government’s commitment to implementing a flexible tourism policy designed to attract renowned hotel groups to Andhra Pradesh, thus firmly establishing the state on the global tourism map. He expressed the government’s readiness to encourage investors to establish their units in the hospitality sector and welcomed the expansion of hotel chains across important cities in the state.
Highlighting the government’s proactive approach, Jagan Mohan Reddy revealed that they have been encouraging 11 prominent brands, including the Oberoi Group, in the hotel sector. He expressed his desire to witness more international brands entering Vijayawada and other cities across Andhra Pradesh shortly.
The Chief Minister underscored the significance of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2020-25, which aims to develop robust tourism infrastructure in alignment with the evolving nature of tourism and promote responsible tourism practices among all stakeholders. He reiterated the government’s plans to develop high-end five and seven-star luxury resorts and hotels at prominent tourist destinations.
Hyatt Place Chairman, Veera Swamy, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support in establishing the hotel in Vijayawada, making it the 45th Hyatt Place in the country.
The event was attended by Tourism Minister R.K. Roja, Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh, Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Home Minister Taneti Vanitha, and Special CS Rajit Bhargava, along with legislators and other dignitaries.
In his address, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized the government’s efforts to promote the tourism and hospitality industry in Andhra Pradesh, aiming to position the state on the global stage. He delivered his inaugural speech at the Hyatt Place, a four-star hotel located in Gunadala near Vijayawada. He highlighted the state’s favorable tourism policy and its encouragement of renowned hotel chains, with 11 prominent brands being promoted in the state.
