India is gearing up to host the 46th edition of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2023 from October 4th to 6th. This highly anticipated event will be graciously hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, heralding a triumphant return to physical gatherings after a pandemic-induced hiatus of three years.
PATA, a globally renowned not-for[1]profit association founded in 1951, plays a pivotal role in promoting responsible travel and tourism development across the Asia Pacific region. The PATA Travel Mart serves as a critical international trade exhibition within the tourism sector, facilitating interactions between global buyers and sellers, predominantly from the Asia Pacific region. This year’s edition promises a wealth of activities, including the prestigious PATA Gold Award, the PATA Youth Symposium, the PATA Forum on Sustainability, and the B2B Mart. It provides a unique platform for networking, learning, and collaboration.
The event will unfold at the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, one of India’s newest and most iconic exhibition venues. Its recent inauguration and successful hosting of the G20 Leaders’ Summit have firmly established India as a prime destination for large-scale events and conferences.
India’s focus on sustainable and inclusive tourism further cements its position as the preferred choice for hosting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events.
In line with global sustainability goals, India’s Ministry of Tourism has launched the Travel for LiFE program under Mission LiFE, promoting responsible tourism behaviors among travelers. India’s active participation in the PATA Travel Mart includes a dedicated pavilion showcasing a wide range of destinations, both renowned and lesser-known.
Additionally, various Indian states, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh, along with the Handlooms Development Commissioner, will exhibit their products. They will highlight the diversity of thematic offerings such as wellness, adventure, heritage, culinary experiences, and arts and crafts from different regions to a global audience.
The PATA Travel Mart 2023 promises to be a vibrant gathering of tourism professionals and stakeholders, reaffirming India’s commitment to responsible tourism and its status as a thriving hub for the travel and tourism industry.
