PHILADELPHIA FOR KIDS

Traveling with kids can be challenging, but Philadelphia makes it easy, offering family-friendly activities, fantastic food, and opportunities to learn, grow and make lasting memories together.

Please Touch Museum

Keep the kids engaged (and feel like a kid again yourself) at the Please Touch Museum, where interacting and learning from whimsical exhibits is the name of the game. Since 1976, the Please Touch Museum has thrilled children and their families through hands-on interactive exhibits with the mission to change a child’s life as they discover the power of learning through play.

Philadelphia Zoo

Make your way to the United States’ oldest zoo and one of the world’s best, Philadelphia Zoo. The innovative Zoo360 experience allows tigers, gorillas, and other animals to climb overhead as you move between exhibits. And that’s not all, giant river otters, larger-than-life insects, dinosaur eggs, and other interactive experiences are sure to fascinate visitors of all ages.

The Franklin Institute

For children and families with curious minds, Philadelphia’s celebrated science museum The Franklin Institute welcomes visitors to discover the mysteries of the human brain, learn the mechanics of electricity, feel the forces of flight, or challenge themselves in an escape room. Families may take in a movie together in the four-story IMAX® theater, reach for the stars in the planetarium, walk through a larger-than-life heart, and learn from Benjamin Franklin’s early electricity experiments.

Exciting new experiences coming soon include two world premiere exhibits, Harry Potter: The Exhibition opening early 2022, and the Walt Disney Company’s 100-year anniversary exhibition that opens early 2023.

Franklin Square

An 18-hole Philadelphia-themed mini-golf course, playground, carousel, and a beautiful fountain, all make Franklin Square a wonderful place to find family fun and excitement. Kids can putt through the Liberty Bell, take a ride on the carousel, and climb to their heart’s content on one of Philadelphia’s best playgrounds. Don’t miss the two-century-old fountain that puts on memorable shows during the spring, summer, and fall, with a dazzling holiday light show each winter.

Family-Friendly Dining

Great taste isn’t limited to our exhibits. Philadelphia boasts a kid-friendly line-up of reservation-free pubs, taquerias, pizza parlors, and steakhouses, including Pizzeria Vetri and Iron Chef Jose Garces’ Buena Onda Tacos

The U.S. borders are set to reopen to vaccinated travelers in early November.

The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau has been approved by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) to use their global Safe Travels Stamp in recognition of the destination’s commitment to safely reopening to visitors.
